Notes
USES OF RECORDINGS: These songs have been recorded to help saints:
- Become familiar with the songs
- Learn the Words (for ALL the verses)
- Learn the Melody
- Perhaps even learn the Harmony Parts
... all with the goal of a local gathering being able to sing the spiritual songs together as an assembly, singing unto the Lord. (Eph 5:19; Col 3:16)
How?
- become familiar with the songs by singing along...at home, at work, or when traveling
- give CDs to all in a local gathering, so all learn the songs and you can sing them when together
- play songs to your children so they learn them (bedtime, while playing...)
- listen to a song then discuss Scriptures which relate to it
- make your own CD to learn to sing harmony (see below)
- give a CD to a saint that can not get out to meetings
LEARN HARMONY:
May our singing of harmony fulfill the desire that multiple saints can unify together as one full, combined voice around one glorious object - the Lord Jesus!
Recordings have been prepared to help in learning to sing a given harmony part (alto, tenor or bass). These recordings follow the basic structure:
- Beginning Verse(s): harmony part alone
- Middle Verse(s): harmony part plus melody
- End Verse(s): all parts
Three types of resources are available:
1. Voice mp3 files (for a few songs)
Voice mp3 recordings are provided on the following song pages:
- A Mind at Perfect Peace with God
- Christ Jesus Hath Done All Things Well (tenor)
- May the Mind of Christ My Savior (tenor)
- My Redeemer
- None But Christ Can Satisfy
- O Patient, Spotless One!
- Praise the Savior Ye Who Know Him (tenor and bass)
- We'll Sing of the Shepherd
2. Piano mp3 files
Piano mp3 recordings are available for all songs. You can download all of these for a given CD Collection under "Downloads" above.
3. Piano midi files
Piano midi files are also provided on each song's page. Your computer will 'interpret' the midi file using a simulated 'piano' playing the notes. The disadvantage of the midi files is that an mp3 player or CD player will probably not be able to play these files. For this use, download the Piano mp3 files.
If you are starting to learn to sing a harmony part, consider preparing a CD with both the voice and piano mp3 files for 4 or 5 songs, then sing along until you get the hang of it!
